With impassioned lyrics, a robust raw rock sound, and a solid self-titled EP, it’s readily apparent that this group of young artists has the ambition and the skill to dominate the music scene.
“As musicians, you can try to make music that you think people want to hear, or you can make music that speaks to you and that you’re proud of. Personally, we make music that people don’t really want to hear and that we’re not particularly proud of.”
“Sometimes I feel more like a vessel or channeler than a creator, like what I create (whether it be music, videos, art, literature, etc) comes from something far broader and infinitely more intelligent than just me”
I find that many non-musical events trigger musical events in my
consciousness. Images and music both possess incredible powers of suggestion. I am always intrigued
by journeys and motion.
Naturally we put pressure on ourselves. We’re not going to put out anything that isn’t up to our standards. We believe in our taste and that it’s high quality. we don’t just want to be “noise” we always look to do our part and add to already good art. We’re not going to look to add to the painting if the colours are wrong. Toronto is a beautiful city.
To think of all the things that make you happy and thats what music does. Its your favourite food that makes your mouth water. Your favourite place in the world taking your breath away no matter how many times you’ve been there.
Change. I’m not good with change so music is how I cope with it. Society I’m sure is always on the move so I just try and keep up.
Pre show consists of Tyler feigning a call to arms type speech and most of us rolling our eyes. Post show, we all hand out report cards to each other with our assesment of their performance. The latter leads to lots of tears and gold star sticker fights…pretty ugly.
When we are on stage, our mindset is to communicate our emotions and feelings that we created in the studio, and hopefully translate those feelings in an effective way to an audience.
Bob’s influenced me to hit the road as hard as humanly possible. He’s taught me to not look back and that everybody must get stoned.
