She was my favorite character from The Beautiful Life playing Marissa, co star with Sara Paxton and Mischa Barton, and you may know her as the English actress that played ‘Bambi’ in the Secret Diary of a Call Girl. In addition, she is a flamenco and period dancer and could easily have a career modeling. She is stunning and has very unique features (not to mention she has the perfect body a girl could ask for). In short, Ashley Madekwe is amazing. She is as talented as she is funny, and she has a great eye for fashion. On her blog, she puts together outfits that range from Louboutins, to American Apparel.

1.What is your funniest/ most ridiculous memory/most trouble you’ve ever gotten into?

I’m an angel and never get into any trouble

3. What’s your motto/advice you live by?

I always that find that listening to Barbra Streisand sing  ”don’t rain on my parade” on full blast makes everything better! I like the idea of carrying on despite what anyone says.

4. I read you were a singer, in addition to an actress, what are your favorite songs to sing at the bar? In the car? At karaoke?

Lady marmalade, the DreamGirls soundtrack and anything by Dizee Rascal.

5. Ten years from now what will your fans be able to expect from you? Or rather, What do you see yourself doing in ten years from now?

I’ll still be acting for sure. I’d like to keep my blog going and hopefully branch out into putting my ideas into accessories. I’m working on something like that at the moment. Can’t say what it is yet though!

6. Career and fashion wise, who has influenced you the most?

I’m influenced by street style all the time. The kids in London who work their looks to the fullest and always look so pulled together, I’m in awe of them.

I’m inspired by actresses who have long, full and varied careers. Meryl Streep, Judi Dench, Maggie Smith… I love everything that Daniel Day Lewis does. Who doesn’t!?

7 How did you get started?

I took myself to acting classes from age 11 and I kept on training all the time. I went to the BRIT school followed by RADA. My first acting job was at 16. A film called ‘Storm Damage’. It’s still one of the projects that I’m most proud of.

8 Any advice to people who want to be in the business?

Keep training, reading plays and seeing theater. Remember that it is a profession and so you should be a professional!

9 How would you describe your wardrobe and style?

Uncommitted and varied! I don’t stick to one look and love to try new things. I’m a fashion magpie! Always sidetracked by the next new thing.
